1. Event Name
Enter a name for your event. PBC will create a sub folder folder in the Local Save Folder (7) with this event name. This is where images will be copied and data will be stored for each event. Each time you use a new event name, you will start fresh with no images or data in PBC. If you reuse an event name, PBC will ask you if you want to use the existing photos and data. If you say 'No', the event folder will be backed up and renamed and you will be starting with a fresh session. If you say 'Yes', PBC will continue to use the same photos and data already in the event folder.
2. Grid BG Image
Use your own custom background image and replace the default blue one that comes with PBC. The default file is found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Photo Booth Solutions\Photo Booth Connected\Assets\Backgrounds. Custom backgrounds must be the same size as the default, 1920x1080. If your monitor is running a smaller resolution, you will still need to use the same size as noted above, but you will need to center your content on the image to account for the edges of the larger image not being shown at smaller resolutions.
3. Upload BG Image
Use your own custom background image to show when the user has selected a photo and is on the upload screen. The default file is found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Photo Booth Solutions\Photo Booth Connected\Assets\Backgrounds. Custom backgrounds must be the same size as the default, 1920x1080. If your monitor is running a smaller resolution, you will still need to use the same size as noted above, but you will need to center your content on the image to account for the edges of the larger image not being shown at smaller resolutions. Avoid placing artwork in a location that will be covered by the gallery, as this tends to leave artifacts during screen refreshes.
4. Watch Folder Speed
This is the speed at which the photos will pull into PBC. For large photos, set to Slower to ensure photos are completely written to the hard drive before PBC pulls the photo.
5. Cut Strips
This displays your photo as a single photo strip. This option is available only with vertical photo strips, not horizontal.
6. Watch Folder 1
This is the folder to monitor for new photos to be added to PBC. When PBC sees a new photo in this folder it will add it to the gallery (kiosk mode) or maximize and show the full image for sharing (booth plugin mode)
Note: Make sure you are watching the right folder depending on your source.
- Breeze saves the final prints in a sub folder called "prints" inside of it's save folder where the original photos are saved. If you are using Booth Plugin mode, you will need to make sure you watch this prints folder, otherwise PBC will activate after the 1st shot, and not when all of the shots are done.
- Eye-Fi saves photos in dated sub folders. Make sure you are using the correct one.
7. Watch Folder 2
A second folder to monitor for new photos. This can be used to allow photos from multiple sources to be added to PBC, like a photo booth and an Eye-Fi photographer, or both Breeze's original shots and the final prints.
8. Local Save Folder
This is where you would like PBC to save photos and data. The default is C:\PhotoBoothConnected. A new subfolder will be created for each event you use.
Note: This is different form the Watch Folders. This is a location for PBC to store data. Watch folders are where PBC looks for new photos.
9. Optimize For
- Keyboard & Mouse
Select if using a keyboard and mouse.
Select if using a touchscreen.
Note: In Kiosk mode, swipe (touchscreen) or click and drag (mouse) the grid to navigate the galley.
- PC Kiosk
In this mode, PBC is mean to be used on a 2nd PC or monitor, away from the booth or photographer. It will create a thumbnail gallery of photos as they are saved in the watch folder(s) that the user can browse and select to print and/or upload to social media.
Note: When you start PBC in kiosk mode, you will see a blank screen with the blur background. PBC is now waiting for new photos to be added to the watch folder.
- PT Booth Mode
If you are a PT Booth user, check this box as PT Booth uses a folder structure to save photos. If you aren't using PT Booth, this needs to remain unchecked.
This is a special optional version of Kiosk mode, where you can monitor up to 6 different folders for photos. Each group of photos will be shown in it's own gallery, and the user can select which gallery from the main screen. Advanced kiosk mode is off by default.
- Booth Plugin
In this mode, PBC is meant to used to add Social Media capabilities to another Photo Booth program. It is meant to be run on the same machine as the Photo Booth and will try to seamlessly integrate with it to appear like it is the same program. Let's use Breeze as an example:
- Make the Grid and Upload BG Images in PBC the same look and feel as the backgrounds you are using in Breeze
- Set PBC to Booth Plugin Mode and watch Breeze's prints folder
- Hit "Save". PBC will minimize and is now waiting for a new photo to appear in Breeze's prints folder. Breeze will go through the sequence of shots, create the print and then PBC will maximize on top of Breeze, showing the final photo allowing the user to upload their photo to the enabled social media networks.
- When the user is done, they hit the "x" (Or PBC times out (10), or PBC closes after upload (13)). PBC will then minimize and Breeze will be shown again.
Note: It's a good idea to increase the "Minimum time to display processing screen" in Breeze to a larger number than usual, like 15 seconds, so Breeze doesn't go back to the live view before PBC has a chance to kick in and maximize itself.
Note: If you use advanced mode, you will need to make sure the number of folders and the number of labels match.
11. Inactivity Timeout
When the user has selected a photo, this is the # of seconds of inactivity before the photo will be minimized and PBC returns to the inactive state. Leave this value as 0 seconds for no timeout.
12. Limit # Photos in Grid
This will limit the grid to the last X number of photos that have been taken. The older photos will not be show any longer.
13. Hide Cursor
Checking this will hide the cursor when PBC is being used.
14. Auto Start Mode
Checking this will skip the settings screen when PBC is launched and automatically start the program. To get back to the settings, hit F1 key.
15. Close Photo After Upload
Checking this will essentially allow the user to only upload to one service before closing the photo.
16. Chromecast Slideshow
Checking this will display the Chromecast slideshow for displaying. It will pull in all photos into a Google Chrome tab. Video covers Event setup, watch folders, Email, Facebook Uploads, Twitter, SMS, FTP, SmugMug, Filters, Overlays, Printing, Offline Access & Reporting.
